[Review] Philips SHP I800

It's almost 2 month since I bought new headphone for my PC, to swap my previous headphone Keenion KDM 281 (Chinese brand, but have a fine quality). So finally I decide to take Philips SHP I800 as my new headphone. Well I was hoping that it would suited to my Nintendo 3DS & Playstation Portable, and yes it suit my handheld very well but only if I'm using it at my home.

Philips SHP I800 give me a very long chords which is about 6 meters, that means this headphone only suited at your home (even I personally didn't need that extra long chords). Also this headphone didn't compatible with any sound enhancer (in my case is Dolby Sound theater), it gives either left or right speaker off or the output voice broke.

Aside for the very long chords and incompatible with sound enhancer software , Philips SHP I800 sound quality is very decent (even without sound enhancer), that almost reach my late Sony headphone (I forgot the name, since it's almost 9 or 10 years ago) & Sony Ericsson earphone that I got when I bought Sony Ericsson W800i cellular phone . Well I'm not quite fanatic for audio stuff, but this SHP I800 is well enough recommended for listening music or watching movie, and for those of you who still searching very good headphone with cheap price (about IDR 200,000) then Philips SHP I800 is your answer.

Pros & Cons

+ Sound quality is very good for cheap headphone.
+ very light material and comfortable.

- Very long chords
- Incompatible with Dolby Sound Theater software.

Conclusions

As I said above the quality is very good even for cheap price headset, but if you ever thought that it's still expensive then put this in your mind 'spending a little bit won't hurt your wallet much for enjoying a good quality sound about 2 or more months'. The chords is indeed very long but you can wrap it up with plastic wires and the incompatible with sound enhancer software didn't decrease the value of this headset, if you using audio device that can make you set the equalizer by yourself then I'm very sure that will be more than enough to increase the sound quality .
